Rohit Kumar Paudel has been appointed as the new captain of the Nepali cricket team. The Nepal Cricket Association (CAN) appointed Rohit as the captain on Friday Nov 11, 2022.
After the sacking of regular captain Sandeep Lamichhane, Rohit got the opportunity to lead the team.
Earlier, he captained the Nepali cricket team in the tour of Kenya two months ago. Rohit captained the three ODI practice matches against Kenya and secured a clean sweep.
Rohit has scored a total of 808 runs with 1 century and 5 fifties in 25 ODI matches for Nepal. He has also played 21 T20Is and 40 List A matches. Rohit, who made his debut with Namibia in Division 2 in 2018, has been performing consistently since then.
Under the captaincy of Rohit, Nepal will play a three-match one-day international series against UAE at home. The first ODI will be held on November 14.
Similarly, the second ODI will be held on November 16 and the last and third ODI will be held on November 18.
