5 Nominated Books for the Madan Puraskar 2079 BS

Out of a total of 313 entries received for the Madan Puraskar Guthi’s B.S. 2079, five outstanding works have been selected. Among these five, the best overall work will receive the Madan Puraskar for the year 2079. In this selection, Subin Bhattarai’s ‘Ejoriya’, Bibek Ojha’s ‘Aaithan’, Dwarikanath Dhungel’s ‘Chakrabhyuha’, Pragati Rai’s ‘Thangra’, and Sanjay Bista’s ‘Matako Ghar’ have all achieved success.

Established in B.S. 2012, the Madan Puraskar Guthi awarded its first prizes in 2013, bestowing the Madan Puraskar on Satya Mohan Joshi’s ‘Hamro Lok Sanskriti’ in prose, Chittaranjan Nepali’s ‘General Bhimsen Thapa Ra Tatkalin Nepal’ in social sciences, and Balaram Joshi’s ‘Adhikavibhav Sthir Bidyut Utpadak’ in science.

Since B.S. 2072, the Guthi has been publicly releasing a ranked list of the best books from the books received in Guthi. According to Guthi’s regulations, a foundation is created for books containing unpublished materials, and one book from the top-ranked list is selected for the Madan Puraskar. The prize amount has been four hundred thousand rupees since 2075.”
