Inspirational stories often transcend age and expectations, and the tale of 16-year-old Reet Kafle is a testament to that. What might usually be seen as the age of teenage exploration, Reet has remarkably carved her identity as a student, teacher, and a shining star on the global stage. A finalist of Global Teen Hero-2020, the recipient of the Youth Initiate Award-2020, and Eco Training’s Global Teacher Award, Reet’s journey is an exceptional blend of academic excellence, passion, and youthful determination.

Reet Kafle’s journey is akin to a storybook narrative of ambition and accomplishment. Notably brilliant from an early age, she wasn’t content with just excelling academically. Her involvement in extracurricular activities demonstrated her multifaceted talents, setting her apart as a leader among her peers.

“Inevitably, my prowess in academics led me to opportunities to help my friends learn. I found myself sometimes stepping into the role of a teacher, a responsibility I wholeheartedly embraced,” reminisces Reet. This initial exposure to teaching ignited a spark within her, eventually crystallizing her aspiration to become an educator.

Her engagements extended beyond the classroom, manifesting in her enthusiastic participation in various programs. While initially met with skepticism, her unwavering dedication and eventual success drew support from all quarters, reinforcing her path.

Reflecting on her initial foray into teaching, Reet recounts, “After completing my Secondary Education Examination (SEE), my school graciously extended an offer for me to teach in the very institution I had studied in. However, teaching wasn’t merely instinctual; I embarked on a journey of self-improvement and honed my pedagogical skills.”

Navigating the intricacies of teaching young children, Reet soon recognized the nuanced art of guiding young minds. “Teaching younger students demanded an entirely distinct approach. I dedicated myself to understanding their learning processes, and gradually, I developed a strong affinity for nurturing young minds,” she adds.

Her journey was a blend of triumphs and challenges. Although her school recognized her potential, her young age initially prompted questions from parents about her suitability as a teacher. Unperturbed, Reet persevered, evolving her teaching methods, which subsequently won over parents and students alike. Her unique teaching style fostered a special connection with her students, fostering a sense of camaraderie and a desire to learn.

Reet’s trajectory took a significant leap when she became part of the CGEEM program by the Chaudhary Group. Transitioning from her familiar school environment to CG’s educational module exposed her to new horizons of learning and teaching. Participating in multiple training sessions and independently pursuing online courses, Reet broadened her educational scope beyond national boundaries.

As Reet continuously enriched her teaching methodologies, she realized that her passion had transformed into a resolute career choice. The secret to her success lay not only in her dedication but also in her distinctive approach, one that fostered friendship over fear. Creating an environment where students saw her as a friend and mentor, rather than a distant figure, cultivated an unparalleled sense of rapport and connection.

Reet Kafle’s story is an embodiment of transcending conventional expectations. Her journey from a diligent student to a beloved educator underscores the power of passion, determination, and a commitment to evolving one’s craft. At just 16 years old, Reet reminds us that age is no barrier to achieving greatness and leaving an indelible mark on the world of education.
